2Set up steps

STEP-1:Guide for Hardware Version

For most TOTOLINK routers, you can see two bar coded stickers underneath each device, the character string will begin with Model No.(T10) and end with the serial number for each device.

STEP-2: Download Firmware

Open browser, enter www.totolink.net. Download the required files.

For example, if your hardware version is V2.0 , please download V2 version.

STEP-3: Unzip the file

The correct upgrade file name is suffixed with ”web”.

STEP-4: Upgrade Firmware

①Click Management->upgrade firmware. 

②With configuration upgrade (if selected, the router will be restored to the factory configuration).

③Choose the firmware file you want to upload. 

Finally④Click Upgrade button. Wait for a few minutes while the firmware is updating, and the router will restart automatically.

Notice: 

1. DO NOT power off the device or close the browser window while uploading as it may crash the system.

2. When downloading the correct firmware update, you'll want to extract and upload the Web File 

format type


2 How does use the TOTOLINK extender APP? 2019-08-30 10:07
     It is suitable for: EX1200M


Application introduction:

This document describes how to extend your Wi-Fi network using the TOTOLINK extender APP. Here is an example of EX1200M.


Set up steps

STEP-1:

* Press the reset button/hole on the extender to reset the expander before use.

* Connect your phone to the extender WIFI signal.

Note: The default Wi-Fi name and password are printed on the Wi-Fi card to connect to the extender.


STEP-2:

2-1. First, open the APP and click NETX.

2-2. Check Confirm and click NEXT.

2-3. According to actual needs, select the corresponding expansion mode (default: 2.4G → 2.4G and 5G). Here is an example of 2.4G and 5G → 2.4G and 5G (parallel):

❹Select expansion mode: 2.4G and 5G→2.4G and 5G (parallel)

❺Click the “AP Scan” option to search for the corresponding 2.4G wireless network around

❻Enter the extended 2.4G wireless network password

❼Click the “AP Scan” option to search for the corresponding 5G wireless network around

❽Enter the extended 5G wireless network password

❾Click the "Save Settings and Restart" button

2-4. Click “Confirm” in the prompt box that pops up, the extender will restart, and you will see the Wi-Fi name after the reboot.

STEP-3:

After the setup is complete, you can move the extender to a different location.

2.If I want to change the Extender to extend another Wi-Fi network within the range but cannot access its configuration page now, what should I do?

A: Restore the Extender to its factory defaults and then start configuration as needed. To reset the Extender, stick a paper clip into the side panel “RST” hole and hold it for over 5 seconds until the CPU LED flashes quickly.

3 How to use the router's WPS button? 2019-08-30 10:06
It is suitable for: All TOTOLINK routers

Application introduction:

This article describes how to quickly make a wireless connection through the router's WPS button.

Set up steps

STEP-1:

* Please make sure your router has WPS button before setting.

* Please make sure your wireless client supports WPS functionality before setting.


STEP-2:

Press WPS button on the router for 1s, WPS enabled. There are two types of wireless router WPS buttons: RST/WPS button and WPS button. As shown below.

Note: If router is a RST/WPS button, no more than 5s, router will be reset to factory defaults if you press it for more than 5s.


STEP-3:

After pressing the WPS button, use wireless client to connect to the router WIFI signal. Using Computer and Mobile phone wireless connection as an example. As shown below.

4 How to setup repeater mode on A1004? 2019-08-30 10:05
     It is suitable for: A1004、A3


Application introduction:

Repeater mode expands the upper-level wireless signal by wireless to extend the wireless signal to a farther distance. Here is an example of A1004.

Set up steps

STEP-1:Assigned manually IP address

A1004 LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1, please type in IP address 192.168.0.x (“x” range from 2 to 254), the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 and Gateway is 192.168.0.1.

STEP-2:Login to the management page

Open the browser,clear the address bar,enter 192.168.0.1 to the management page,click Advance setup.

The repeater mode supports both 2.4G and 5G. Here's how to set up 2.4G first, then set 5G.


STEP-3:2.4G repeater settings

3-1.  2.4GHz wireless setting

❶ Click Wireless Setup -> ❷Select 2.4GH Basic network -> ❸ Set Wireless SSID -> ❹ Set Wireless Password -> ❺ Click Apply.

STEP-5:

After the setting is successful, please obtain the IP setting automatically, and the computer can connect to the network.

Now all Wi-Fi enabled devices can connect to a custom wireless network.


FAQ Common problem

Q1: After the bridge mode is set successfully, you will not be able to access the router. If you need to revisit, there are two ways!

1. Press the reset button/hole on the router to restore the router to factory settings;

2. Log in to the router management page by setting a fixed IP (refer to STEP-1).


5 How to login to router by manually configuring IP? 2019-08-30 10:04
     It is suitable for: All TOTOLINK routers


Set up steps

STEP-1: Connect your computer

Connect to the router's LAN port with a network cable from a computer network port (or to search for and connect the  router's wireless signal).

STEP-2: Assigned manually IP Address

2-1. If the router’s LAN IP address is 192.168.1.1, please type in IP address 192.168.1.x (“x” range from 2 to 254), the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 and Gateway is 192.168.1.1.

2-2. If the router’s LAN IP address is 192.168.0.1, please type in IP address 192.168.0.x (“x” range from 2 to 254), the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 and Gateway is 192.168.0.1.

STEP-3: Login to the TOTOLINK router in your browser. Take 192.168.0.1 as an example.

STEP-4: After setting up the router successfully, please select Obtain an IP address automatically and Obtain DNS Server address automatically.

Note: Your terminal device must choose to obtain an IP address automatically to access the network.


6 Introduction to the four Operation Mode of the router 2019-08-30 10:04
     It is suitable for: All TOTOLINK routers

Application introduction:

This article will introduce the difference between Router Mode, Repeater mode, AP mode, and WISP Mode.

Set up steps

STEP-1: Router Mode(Gateway mode)

Router Mode, the device is supposed to connect to the internet via ADSL/Cable modem. The WAN type can be setup on WAN page, including PPPOE, DHCP client, Static IP.

STEP-2: Repeater mode

Repeater Mode, you can extend the superior Wi-Fi signal by Repeater setting function under the Wireless column to increase the coverage of the wireless signal.

STEP-3: AP mode(Bridge mode)

AP mode, the router acts as a wireless switch, you can transfer the superior's AP/Router wired signal into wireless signal.

STEP-4: WISP Mode

WISP Mode, all ethernet ports are bridged together and the wireless client will connect to ISP access point. The NAT is enabled and PCs in ethernet ports share the same IP to ISP through wireless LAN.

FAQ Common problem

Q1: Can I log in to the TOTOLINK ID after setting the AP mode/Repeater mode?

A: TOTOLINK ID cannot be logged in after setting AP mode/Repeater mode.


Q2: How to enter the router management interface in AP mode/Repeater mode?

A: Refer to FAQ#How to login to router by manually configuring IP


7 What if the Extender can't log in to the new Chrome? 2019-08-30 10:03
It is suitable for: All TOTOLINK Extender



Application introduction:

After entering the management address of the extender in the address bar of Chrome browser, the page cannot be displayed after entering the management password, as shown below.

Note: 

Ensure that the login IP address you typed in the address bar is correct, as well as the login username and password.

Method One: login via PC

STEP-1: 

Change browser and clear browser cache

Try changing old version (before 72.0.3626.96) of Chrome browser or try other browser, such as Firefox, Internet Explorer, etc., and clear your browser cache.

Delete cookies on the web browser. Here we take Firefox for example.

Note: In general, the browser enters the management address of the extender and error pops up. Please use this method first.

STEP-2: 

2-1. Extender default Gateway IP address 192.168.0.254:

Assigned manually IP address 192.168.0.x “x” range from 2 to 253, the Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0 and Gateway is 192.168.0.254.

Try other browser, such as Firefox, Opera, etc., and clear your browser cache.

8 What if the CPE can't log in to the new Chrome? 2019-08-30 10:02

After entering the management address of the CPE in the address bar of Chrome browser, the page cannot be displayed after entering the management password, as shown below.

Note: Ensure that the login IP address you typed in the address bar is correct, as well as the login username and password.

10 How to synchronize the router's system time with internet time? 2019-08-30 10:00
     It is suitable for: N300RH_V4, N600R, A800R, A810R, A3100R, T10, A950RG, A3000RU

You can maintain the system time by synchronizing with a public time server over the Internet.


Set up steps

STEP-1:

Login to the TOTOLINK router in your browser.

STEP-2: 

In the left menu, click Management->Time Setting, follow the steps below.
